Track Biography:
The Waterford Foxhounds annual point-to-point fixture is ran on the grounds of the beautiful Curraghmore Estate in Portlaw.
Curraghmore House is the historic home of the 9th Marquis of Waterford. Some 2,500 acres of formal gardens, woodland and grazing fields make this the largest private demense in Ireland and one of the finest places to visit.
Their annual fixture is traditionally held during Easter but since 2020 they now also have an Autumn fixture which takes place in October.

By Road
From Dungarvan - take N25 towards Waterford. Approx 2 km after exit for Kilmacthomas, turn left onto the L305. Continue straight on for 6 km. At Y junction, bear right and follow straight on to Ballyquin Cross. Turn right into Curraghmore Estate.
From Waterford / Wexford - Don’t go for Portlaw!!!! Take N25 from toll bridge or R680 from Waterford city towards Dungarvan. At Portlaw/Carrick roundabout, take the N25 towards Dungarvan. Don’t go for Portlaw. Continue on for 12 km. Turn right onto the L3055. Continue straight on for 6 km. At Y junction, bear right and follow straight on to Ballyquin Cross. Turn right into Curraghmore Estate.
From Carrick–on-Suir – head for Dungarvan on the R676. Take left turn onto Kilmacthomas road to Ballyquin Cross. Turn left into Curraghmore Estate.

We provide free parking for all patrons attending the races. Accommodations can be made for disabled parking, please just notify a parking attendee on arrival.
There is a betting ring located close to the parade ring, allowing racegoers to throw an eye over the runners before decided on what horse warrants a wager. Off-course betting on Irish and UK race meetings is available.
Toilet facilities are situated around the track.

As our Spring fixture is held over the Easter holidays, our point-to-point offers the perfect location for a weekend away with the family. We are located half an hour drive from Waterford city, which makes it extremely accessible for visitors to combine a city break with a day out in the countryside.

PUSH PUSH and Walkingmayotomilan would look to give their handler Colin Bowe a strong hand in this. The former only went down by a neck on her debut at Ballyknock in mid-April, and whilst she failed to back that up at Stowlin, she does look to have the strongest form in the book. Her stablemate has a similar profile after her latest effort at Ballingarry, but her Bartlemy run would bring her into the equation. Fellow Wexford handler, Denis Murphy, has been doing well in this category this month, and his newcomer Cest Belle would have to be considered, given the recent form of the stable.

A change of tactics was tried with STENKA RAZIN on his return to action as he was patiently ridden at Portrush earlier in the month. He made up a number of late positions in the home straight to finish third, and that recent run will stand to him. LAmalric has been absent since disappointing at Kirkistown last season, but there was promise in his Tallow debut, whilst Uncle Scooge finished third at Stowlin on his sole previous start, and he can step forward from that.

Stablemates SHARP AS GLASS and Beg To Differ both have the advance of recent race fitness on their side, which will be a big plus at this time of the year. The former overcame racing keenly to finish third on his first start in this sphere at Loughrea a fortnight ago to finish third, and could be the answer to this. His year older stablemate Beg To Differ went close at Portrush, which leaves him as a danger alongside Ponte Vedra who was placed behind a subsequent bumper winner last season, whilst King Peak had finished third in a Cork bumper last year in his sole start for Willie Mullins.
